TRAGIC: Woman Compelled to Also Order Water After All of Her Friends Get Water

Peer pressure strikes at the most inopportune times. Witnesses from a Chicagoland Applebee’s paint us a horrid picture of what initially seemed to be a normal Monday evening for Ashley R., a Naperville resident. We spoke to the waiter directly involved in the incident.

“Well, I had just led this group to their table and proceeded to take their order. They had been waiting in line for a while – we have Happy Hour Mondays, of course. By the time I sat them down I could tell immediately what was on one person’s mind at my table – she kept starting at this Margarita one of my coworkers was bringing to the next table. Kept staring at it. Kept talking about her long day of work too. I asked for their drink orders and the first person said water. She immediately looked down. And that’s when it started, I think.”

“Bothered me, really. Monday nights are good for tips, especially for our, uh, more acclimated guests,” the waiter said, nodding to the Happy Hour sign. “But as soon as one gets water, they all do. Can’t be the only one, I guess.”

We also talked to Ashley R. about the incident.

“Margarita?,” she asked, nervously, looking back at her friend group. “No definitely not. I always had water in mind. Always. Water. All the time with them.” She sighed.
